Making the change from non contact to contact is a big step in the development of a young player. Our Body Contact Camp helps players build confidence in high traffic areas and develop skills needed to win battles all over the ice.

Program Focus
This camp is geared towards players who will be playing full-contact hockey who want to develop the skills, tactics and awareness to successfully compete in and win their 1v1 battle and races consistently.
Being balanced and strong on your skates is an essential part of successfully playing contact hockey so we begin each session with a warm up focusing on specific skating techniques that improve stability and evasiveness. We go through the fundamental physical skills required to properly give and receive checks in open ice and along the boards.
While continuing to work on the physical skills, players begin to use the skills in game situations where they start to build confidence applying the skills effectively to protect themselves and win their races and battles for the puck. Players learn several high-percentage options they can use in each game situation and the benefits of each choice. We discuss a range of concepts that factor into successfully winning 1v1 battles like body position, stick position, gap, angling, relative speed, deception, board play, puck support options etc.
The goal is to have players leave camp with the skills, awareness and confidence to safely and successfully compete in full contact games and practices.

Supplemental information
We encourage players to bring small snacks like granola bars or fruit. Players are responsible for their own water bottles.
Make sure all your information is up to date! Each time you sign up for a camp/clinic/session, it is your responsibility to provide current information in any applicable areas such as:
- Your current phone number and email.
- Your player's Medical Condition, Jersey Size, Current Team and Level.
Please note, Bronko Hockey reserves the right to determine final player enrollment in each camp/clinic/session.
Registering and paying online is the fastest and easiest way to sign your player up for a camp/clinic/session.
If you would like to pay by cheque or cash here are the steps you need to follow:
- Register for a Bronko Account online
- Add Player(s) that are linked to your account
- Click Contact Us and send us a message specifying the Camp, Player name(s) and preferred payment method.
The player info you provide (age, level etc) while linking player(s) to your account will allow us to determine which level/group your player should compete at during the camp. Once we've determined if space is available we'll contact you by email to finalize payment details. You will receive an email confirming placement at the camp once payment is received.
We give priority for camp/clinic/session placement to the players who will be able to attend the camp each day and who have paid full registration fee. Any scheduling conflicts must be presented before signing up for a particular program we offer. We cannot offer refunds for last minute scheduling conflicts, excluding medical emergencies.

Bronko Hockey Camp Policies
- Full refund of registration fees for cancellations made more than 60 days prior to the start of specified camp/clinic/session. 50% refund, 50% credit (for future camps/clinics/sessions) for cancellations more than 30 days prior to the start of the camp/clinic/session. No refund will be issued thereafter. In the case of serious injury/illness, full refund with medical record signed by the doctor, submitted to us within 10 days of the injury/illness.
- Bronko Hockey reserves the right to determine final enrollment in all its programs. Completing online sign up of a player does not guarantee a player's placement in the selected camp/clinic/session. You will receive email notification that Bronko Hockey has received your information once you have completed the online camp/clinic/session sign-up process but Bronko Hockey will evaluate each player's suitability for the camp/clinic/session and determine final enrollment on an individual basis, considering such factors as the player's age, ability, position etc. Once the evaluation is complete you will receive an email notifying you of your enrollment status in the specified program.
- If a student is dismissed from a program we run for unacceptable conduct and/or behaviour there will be no refund or credit given.
- Credit for future camps/clinics/sessions must be used within one calendar year of the date the credit is given.
- Bronko Hockey Camp Policies and Waiver may change from time to time. Please refer to this page each time you sign up for a Bronko Hockey camp/clinic/session.
Waiver
The customer agrees that Bronko Hockey Inc., its agents, servants and employees will not be held responsible for any accident or loss howsoever caused, and agrees to release Bronko Hockey Inc., it's agents, servants and employees from all claims or damage which may arise as a result of any such accident or loss. In the event of any inability to be contacted, the customer hereby agrees to give Bronko Hockey permission to seek any necessary medical attention required. The customer acknowledges that any photos and/or video footage of players recorded during the course of the camp/clinic are the sole property of Bronko Hockey and authorize Bronko Hockey to use and reproduce said photos/video footage in any online advertisements and/or printed commercial material such as brochures, pamphlets, banners etc.
